Chloe and Joe's Wedding at Ocean View

On Saturday 12th September Chloe and Joe got married at St Catherine’s Church in Gorseinon, followed by a reception at Ocean View in Llanmadoc. They had to adjust their plans quite a lot due to the covid restrictions, but they managed to get creative and still have an incredible wedding day.

The Ceremony at St Catherine’s Church, Gorseinon

At the time of the wedding, covid restrictions in Wales meant that at your ceremony you could have as many guests as could safely fit into the space when socially distanced. Due to the church being very large, Chloe and Joe were able to have around 50 guests attend their ceremony. To ensure everyone was safe there was a seating plan, and people were sat with their households and 2 metres away from everyone else. It was so nice that all of their closest family and friends could still be there, and that they could have the traditional church wedding they had dreamed of.

The Couple’s Portraits at Cefn Bryn

After the ceremony we headed over to Broad Pool at the foot of Cefn Bryn to get some couple’s portraits. The views at the reception venue (Ocean View Gower) also provided a great backdrop for some more photos in the evening, when we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset.

The Reception at Ocean View

The wedding reception was held at Ocean View Gower, which is a gorgeous venue, in a truly stunning location. So that none of their guests had to miss out on the reception, Chloe and Joe decided to split it into two parts. They had 30 guests attend a sit down meal after the ceremony, and then a different 30 guests attend an evening celebration, complete with a pub quiz in place of the traditional dancing. It worked so well, and it was a very clever way of being able to have all of the guests they wanted. It also meant they were able to spend real quality time with each of their guests, and really relax and enjoy their day.

As tough as it must be having a small wedding forced upon you, there really are some perks to keeping the numbers low, and I really don’t think it makes the day any less special.
