Walking the Wales Coast Path - Pembrokeshire - Abereiddy to Porthgain

In June 2021 my birthday was coming up, and I always use my birthday as an excuse to get my husband and kids to join me somewhere in Pembrokeshire for a walk. On this occasion we opted for a walk from Porthgain to Abereiddy. Both places we’d never been to before, and it was a small chunk of the coastal path I needed to walk, so felt like a win win.

Originally I’d found a circular walk we could do, so that it would be easier to convince my kids they were already on their way home as soon as we set off. However, on arriving at Abereiddy, everyone agreed they’d rather go back the same way along the coast, as it had been such a lovely walk.

If memory serves it was only about 2 miles from Portgain to Abereiddy, perhaps a bit less, and it was a very easy section, and all 3 children managed it with very few complaints. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a family friendly walk in Pembrokeshire. You can also take a look at the circular walk we didn’t do over on the National Trust website, incase you do want to go back a different way.

Parking was easy and free in Porthgain harbour, and there are a range of cafe options incase you want to purchase any food or drink. There are also public toilets at both Porthgain and Abereiddy.

Below are some of the photos from our walk.
