Walking the Wales Coast Path - Pembrokeshire - Freshwater West to Angle Circular

Back in February, my friend Nia and I had an incredible day walking from Freshwater West to Angle. It was a long walk, only around 1o miles if I remember, but with a lot of ups and downs, it felt like more. The fact we were able to do this as a circular walk though definitely helped mentally.

There is a sign early on in the walk warning you that it is a tough section, and that there are no escape routes for about 6 miles. Which was a tad daunting to read, and whilst it was definitely hard work, it was manageable, and as you can see from the photos it was another breathtaking walk.

The early morning light was incredible too, and it took us a while to get started on our walk as we couldn’t pull ourselves away. However, finishing the walk back at Freshwater West was great too, as it meant we could sit and rest on the beach and soak up the amazing views.

There were some old forts and lookouts along the route too, which was interesting.

I’d never been to the beach at Angle before, so that was a very pleasant surprise too. We also managed to time our walk perfectly with the first day of the season that the cafe was open. Which provided us with some well earned treats.

All in all, it was an incredible walk. Tiring, but well worth it, and definitely a favourite.

Here is a map of the circular route we did.
